David W. Kimmel, 87, of Providence Place, Pine Grove, formerly of Valley View, passed away Monday at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey.
He was born on Tuesday, July 23, 1929, a son of the late Charles F. and Anna J. Kimmel.
He served in the Army and the Army Air Corps during the Korean Conflict.
David had worked at Twin Valley Farmers Exchange, Hegins, and retired as a salesperson for J. Bertolet VW, Orwigsburg.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View.
He was also a member and former commander of American Legion Post 575, Valley View.
David loved country western music, camping, and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and a sister; and by his beloved Chihuahua, Lucky.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine M. Paul Kimmel, to whom he was married for 68 years.

He is also survived by two daughters, Vicki R. Snyder and her husband, Ralph, Hegins, and Shelley A. Wolfgang and her husband, Donald, Valley View; a son, Brian D. Kimmel and his companion, Michael Vargo, Mount Joy; four grandsons, Brock Snyder and his wife, Kristen, Millersburg, Dillan Wolfgang, Sterling, Ark., Colby Snyder, Sacramento, and Kirk Wolfgang and his fiancee, Leena Reilly, Centre Hall; two granddaughters, Janna Orshesky and her husband, Ronald, Hershey, and Amber Fine and her husband, Jeffrey, Palmyra; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Donna Wetzel, Tennessee; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View, with the Rev. Brian Beissel officiating. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be made in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Valley View. Memorial contributions can be made to American Legion Post 575, P.O. Box 754, Valley View, PA 17983, or to Trinity Lutheran Church, P.O.
