Katherine "Kathy" Janean Owen, age 26 of Statesville, passed away, Thursday February 23, 2017 unexpectedly. She was born January 11, 1991 in Iredell County to Nancy Jo Young Owen of Statesville and the late Cecil Wayne Owen. She was an artist, avid reader and a lover of animals.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by two brothers, Hunter Wayne Owen of Denver, Colorado, and Conrad Vance Owen of Statesville. Katherine is also survived by two sisters; Angela Marie Rangel of Hickory and Mary Leigh Moreno of Statesville and special friend, Ulysses Long of Statesville.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30pm Sunday February 26, 2017 at Chapman Funeral Home. She will be buried in Oakwood Cemetery alongside her father in Statesville.
