Sylvia Simonton Sims, 76, entered heaven on July 3, 2016 at Corinth Road Personal Care Home, Newnan, GA.
She is survived by her husband, Walter Thomas Sims of LaGrange and children, Walter Thomas Sims, Jr. and wife, Terri Snow Sims of Chesapeake, VA, Lisa Sims Hansen and husband, Eric Hansen of Dallas, TX and Sylvia Amanda (Amy) Sims Pearson and husband, Ben Pearson of LaGrange, GA. Grandchildren include, Walter Thomas Sims, III (Bo), Catherine Sims (Cassy), William Sims (Wil), Peter Hansen, Preston Hansen, Hanna Hansen, Bailey Pearson and Parker Pearson. She is also survived by her sisters, Sharon Clonts, Riverdale, GA, Elizabeth Adcock, Mobile, AL, Sandra Camp (Jerry), Lanett, AL, Desiree Akins and sister in law Jennifer Davis, Lanett, AL.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, William Burkes Simonton and Connie Louise Harmon Meyers. She was also preceded in death by Butterfly, Buffy, PK and the hundreds of cats that were blessed by her care.
Visitation with the family will be held at Grace Baptist Church, 3731 West Point Road, LaGrange, GA, on Saturday, July 9,1-2 pm, followed by a memorial service.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the wonderful, loving caregivers at Corinth Road Personal Care Home, Newnan, GA, especially Ann Cowen and Hyla Stonebraker. Also many thanks to Gaye Buttery of Gentiva Hospice for her continuous care and support.
