Shelby E. Willis, 76, passed away at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation-Harrison on Wednesday, September 24, 2014. He was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, on February 1, 1938, the son of Shelby E., Sr. and Mary Roark Willis.

He taught agriculture and biology for 15 years at South Central High School, worked for the USDA as a crop adjuster, and retired from the Census Bureau in 2008.

He was a graduate of Purdue University and the University of Illinois. He was an FFA sponsor and a coach for the Harrison County 4-H Entomology Team. In his free time he enjoyed photography.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother George.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years Eileen Danforth Willis of Corydon, IN; his son, Seth Willis (Amy) of Greeley Colorado; his daughter, Bethany Spencer (Brad) and grandson Isaac of Indianapolis, IN.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 4 PM at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, IN. Pastor Charles M. Pelc will officiate.

The family suggests memorial gifts be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), Kentucky Chapter: 153 Thierman Lane, Louisville, Kentucky 40207.
