David (Dave) Michael Jester, 82, of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away on April 26, 2015. The memorial and celebration-of-his-life service will be held Friday, May 1 at 11:00 a.m. at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, 19698 Greeno Road, Fairhope, AL 36532. Visitation will be held beginning at 10 a.m. Dave was born in Los Angeles, California on April 3, 1933. After his high school graduation, he entered into a career of military service to our country, and continued his formal education. He earned a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Maryland, majoring in Business Administration. Dave was married to the love of his life; Margaret (Maggie) on June 9th, 1956; they were married 58 years. Dave was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. After 21 years of military service, which began with the US Navy, he retired from the US Air Force, earning the Meritorious Service Medal in 1971. Dave continued his work with 19 years of Federal Service and 10 years of service to the state of Alabama and Mississippi, where he resided. Dave enjoyed cooking, wood working, traveling, gardening, sports, and keeping Maggie happy. Dave was active in the community of Daphne and Fairhope by serving on the Daphne Utility Board and recently on the board of the Fairhope Single Tax Colony. Dave is survived by his wife Margaret Jester; children: Dawn (Tom) Dean, Mike (Angie) Jester, David (Lisa) Jester: grandchildren, Ian and Chelsea Jester. He is preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Emma Jester, brothers, Ralph Jr. and Tommy Jester; and grandson, Chris Jester. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given in his name to The Haven-animal shelter, 559 S Section St, Fairhope, AL 36532 The Jester Family wishes to thank so many friends, neighbors, and acquaintances who have been so very kind and supportive through this difficult time for all who knew and loved Dave.
