Heflin - L. Travis Walker, 71, died Sunday, March 5, 2017, at Regional Medical Center.

Travis began his Insurance Career in 1963 when he graduated from Ranburne High School. Mr Walker worked in Cleburne County; Atlanta, Georgia; and Birmingham, Alabama. Travis purchased Morgan-Genge Insurance in 1981. The name was later changed to Insurance Resources Center. Travis retired in 2011 after 48 years in the industry. He loved to cook; shop for antiques and most of all, spend time with family. "Pops", we will miss that infectious smile and laughter.

Travis is preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Lea Weathers Walker; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Marie (Robert) Watson and Elizabeth (Kirby) White.

Survivors include his wife, Eleanor C. Walker; a son and daughter-in-law, Scott (Melody) Walker; three grandchildren, Brayden, Austin and Ansley Walker; his mother-in-law, Jessie N. Harris; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Catherine (Kenneth) Forsyth and Dorothy Cook, all of Heflin, AL; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Johnny (Sue) Walker, Alexander City, AL, and Joe (Glyndle) Walker Heflin, AL; a fur baby and companion, Jackson; four nieces; and seven nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Hepsabah Baptist Church with the Dr. Roland Brown and Dr. Steve Dempsey, officiating.

Pallbearers will be Scott Walker, Austin Walker, Brayden Walker, Robert Watson, Charles Howle, Ronald Howle, Floyd Smith, Jeffrey Smith, and James Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ranburne High School Class of 1963.

Burial will follow in Hepsabah Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
