She Had Been a Patient Sufferer With Rheumatism for Ten Years – A Life Spent in Good Deeds to Fellow Beings.
After being an invalid for about ten years, resultant from rheumatism, and bearing her affliction with patience and true christian fortitude, Mrs. Louise Hepburn McClure, widow of the late E. C. McClure, who was cashier of the State bank and a prominent resident of this city, died Saturday at 3:15 a.m. at the home of Mrs. March, No. 17 Mill street, where she had lived for the past three years. Deceased was the daughter of Samuel Hepburn, at one time a prominent attorney of Milton, who spent the later years of his life in Lock Haven and passed away here. Mrs. McClure was a consistent member of Great Island Presbyterian church for many years, was devoted to her friends and those next of kin, and was a woman possessed of a lovely christian character. She delighted in doing good deeds when her strength permitted it, was always cheerful, even though racked with pain and always only saw the good traits in others. By her death a noble woman has been called to enjoy the fruits of her unselfish labors here on earth. Mrs. McClure reached her 78th year on March 7 last. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. T. C.
