Born in Coatesville, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Emma (Scott) and William Benekam. He was a graduate of Coatesville High School. He served honorably in the US Air Force as Staff Sergeant during the Korean War.
He worked as a Diesel Mechanic at Wood Trucking in Wauseon, Ohio.
He is survived by his siblings, William Benekam of Atglen, Pa. and Lena Hershey of Coatesville, Pa; and by his nieces and nephew.
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 10th at 11 a.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon, Ohio with viewing from 10-11 a.m. Interment will follow at Geenlawn Cemetery, Delta, Ohio.
