Daughter of Mary (nee Roach) and Thomas William Cecil. Edith enlisted in the Australian Army Nursing Service on 1 October 1915. She served as a Staff Nurse at various places during World War 1 - No. 1 Australian General Hospital, No.3 Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Military Infectious Hospital, Choubra, No. 13 British General Hospital and Sea Transport Staff Secs 7-8. Her appointment was terminated on 4 January 1919. During the 1920's and 1930's she worked at the Caulfield Military Hospital. She died aged 52 years.
