Laketon Twp. John "Ed" Willett, age 74, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, February 26, 2017. He was born January 26, 1943 in Muskegon to Howard and Mary (White) Willett. Ed was employed as a carpenter by the Carpenters Local Union #687 for many years before retiring. He had also worked as an RN and Director of Nursing at various locations. Ed enjoyed working with his hands, doing yard work, and loved being "Papa" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On August 5, 1989, he married the former Kathy Fowler in Muskegon and she preceded him in death on June 6, 2011.

SURVIVORS include 5 children: Kris (Miranda) Fowler, Wade Willett, AJ (Melissa) Willett all of Muskegon, Amy (Joe) Stone of Macomb, MI, Tony (Amy) Willett of Muskegon; 7 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gene Willett; and sister, Barb Ward.

A GRAVESIDE SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Laketon Twp. Cemetery. Memorials to the National Parkinson Foundation or the American Diabetes Association will be appreciated. Arrangements by The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave.
