Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, at Calvert-Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home, Flanagan. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, at the Flanagan Christian Church. The Rev. Dana Jumper will officiate. Burial will follow at Center Cemetery, Flanagan.
Memorials may be made to the Flanagan Public Library, Hands All Around Quilt Guild of Central Illinois (HAAQG) or Flanagan Cornell High School Booster Club.
Jean was born in Streator on Nov. 8, 1944, to Gordon and Beulah Loudon. After graduating from Flanagan High School, she married her high school sweetheart, John. Married on Aug. 24, 1963, John and Jean enjoyed 53 years of marriage. He survives in Flanagan. Together, they had three children: Todd who preceded her in death, Jill (John) Harrison, Flanagan: and Brandi (Jon) Forney, Flanagan. Also surviving are her five grandchildren Matthew, Charlie, and Rachel Harrison and Maddy and Nick Forney; and two sisters, Lola (Paul) Ingold and Kaye (Ken) Lafreniere.
After a career as a homemaker, Jean worked at the Livingston County Farm Service Agency retiring after more than 30 years of service. Jean was a member of the Quilt Guild in Bloomington, Flanagan Christian Church, Christian Women's Fellowship, and served as the church organist and Moderator of the Church for many years.
She will forever be remembered for having a kind soul, personal strength and a contagious personality. Jean enjoyed playing games with her grandchildren, quilting and spending time watching wild life at her home in Wisconsin. She especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events and school activities.
