WASHINGTON TERRACE - LaRue J. Carlson, 89, a long time resident of Washington Terrace, passed away Friday, December 8, 2006 of causes incident to age.
She was born September 19, 1917 in Malad, Idaho, a daughter of David S. and Lottie L. Williams Jones. The family moved to Logan where she was raised and educated.
She married Earl F. Carlson in Malad on May 29, 1939. They were later divorced.
LaRue was a member of Washington Terrace 2nd LDS Ward where she had served in many callings.
She had worked in the retail and grocery business for many years. She retired in 1979 from Smith's Food King following her work as a bakery manager. She enjoyed spending time with her family, working in her yard, reading and she loved to write poems.
She is survived by two sons and one daughter, Glenn (Dolores) Carlson, Colorado Springs, CO; Greg (Judy) Carlson, South Ogden; Judy (Robert) Myers, Uintah; seven grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters, Dixie Evans and Betty (Uel) Alsup; and her brothers, Venal (Maurine) Jones, David O. Jones, Darwin (Shirley) Jones, Robert (Dianne) Jones and Ken (Pat) Jones.
She was preceded in death by her parents and infant sister.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, December 14, 2006 at 1 p.m. at the Logan City Cemetery.
Friends and family may call at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 from 6 to 8 p.m.
