Barbara Culie Tarlton Ahring, 78, passed from this life Thursday, March 2, 2017. Barbara was born November 24, 1938 to Clifford and Mamie Culie on the farm in Tryon, Ok.
Barbara attended Tryon Schools to graduate and then she attended OSU and received her Master's degree in Elementary Education. She taught elementary school until she retired and then became the Perkins Public Librarian. She belonged to the Oklahoma Education Association and National Teacher s Association. She taught preschool and Sunday school and was the Director for more than forty years. Barbara was married to Robert Ahring.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Bill Tarlton.
Barbara is survived by one son, Randall Tarlton and wife, Katrina of Malvern, Ar; two daughters, Judith Deaver of Stillwater, Ok; Bonnie Baird and husband, Craige of Tulsa, Ok; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; one sister, Freda Turner and Dan of Perkins, Ok.
Services will be 2:00 Monday, March 6, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Perkins. Interment will follow at the Tryon Cemetery.
