Norton Shores Bob was born in 1930, the youngest child of Edward and Catharine (Caragher) Hogan in Lima, NY. He graduated the top ten of his graduating class of 14 in 1947. He enlisted in the USAF and proudly served four years during the Korean War the last two in Michigan as a Recruiting Sergeant. Bob married Patricia Yonkovit of Ludington, MI in 1955 and they had two children, Daniel (Lisa) of Colorado Springs and Mary Johnson of Muskegon. Bob received his Bachelor of Science degree from St. John Firher College and his Master of Arts degree from Western Michigan University. He served as a Public Administration Intern in the Governor's office in Albany, NY and joined IBM in NY in 1957, transferring to Muskegon as a computer salesman in 1964. He later joined Baker College of Muskegon to develop their computer classes, retiring as Vice President of student services in 1995. He was active in many community organizations including Data Processing Management Association, AMBUCS, Rotary, SERRA, Private Industry Council, and Norton Shores City Council. Bob was a tour guide at the Hackley-Hume homes and he and Pat served as ushers at the Frauenthal Center, and as tour escorts for Orchard View Travelers for many years.

In addition to Pat, his wife of over 60 years, and his children, Bob is survived by grandsons, Michael (Shannon) Hogan of Portage, James Hogan of Georgia, Alex Johnson of Muskegon; great-grandson, Connor Hogan of Portage; sister, Esther Kubus and brother-in-law, Peter Hasenauer, both of Rochester, NY; plus in-laws, Jane Ailman, Ronace Hogan and Tim Johnson; in additions to many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandson, John Hogan; his parents; siblings, Rita (Lewis) Davison, Eugene (Jean) Hogan, Roger (Eileen) Hogan, Bernice Hasenauer and Chester Kubus.

The MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 239 W. Clay St. with Rev. Fr. Matthew Barnum presiding. VISITATION will be 5-8 PM Monday, February 27, 2017 with The Rosary being prayed at 6PM at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery with Full Military Rites under the auspices of the VFW Muskegon County Council. Memorials may be made to St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church or Muskegon Catholic Education Foundation Inc.
