Matthew E, Terry, 26 of Providence passed away peacefully Wednesday March 1, 2017 at RI Hospital , with his loving family and friends by his side.

Matthew was the beloved son of Edwin R. Terry Jr of Seekonk, MA and Nancy L, Terry of Wood River Junction, RI.

To know Matthew was to love hime. For the short time he was with us he lived a full and happy life. Always a free spirit he was loved and loved the many people in his life and brought joy to everyone. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a beautiful smile that could brighten anyones day, he'll be remembered for his kindness, generosity and humility.

An accomplished musician, Matthew taught himself to read and write music at a very young age and was self taught on the instruments he played, the accordion, keyboards and guitar. He along with friends formed the band "24 Hours" and performed at numerous venues in Providence, Much of what they played was music that Matthew had written himself. Extremely intelligent he spoke several languages, was and avid reader and loved history. He recently was spending much time researching his family heritage.

In essence he was a wonderful boy who grew up to be a fine young man. There are not enough words to describe what a beautiful person he was. He will be greatly missed, but always remembered with love and a smile.

Besides his parents Matthew is survived by his older brother John F Terry of Richmond RI, a little sister Reiley E. Terry of Seekonk MA, His grandparents Robert Tucker Sr of Jefferson NH and Janice Tucker of Coventry RI, Edwin R Terry Sr of South Kingstown RI, the late Mary W Terry of Cranston and the late George Schmitt of Coventry. His uncles Brian Terry of Cranston, Michael Terry of Warwick, David and Robert Tucker Jr. of Coventry, and his aunt Erin Marsella of South Kingstown. His nephew John D Terry and niece Gianna Terry of Richmond RI, and numerous family and friends. He is also survived by his loving girlfriend Mary Burke of Providence with whom he adored and was so happy to be with and his best friend from childhood Tyler North of Hopkington. He also leaves behind the members of the Barnett family of West Greenwich who loved him dearly as he did them.

His visitation will be held on Wednesday March 8th, from 5 - 8 in the Russell J Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Rd. Warwick.
