Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10AM on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Mary A. Unger who died on Monday, April 11, 2016 in Florida. Rev. Leroy Scheierl will officiate and burial will be at Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud. Friends and relatives may call from 4-7PM on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Mary was born on August 21, 1938 to Raymond and Agnes (Driscoll) Cleary in Mason City, Iowa. She moved to Bemidji, MN in 1949 and graduated from Bemidji High School. Mary attended Marquette University and graduated from Bemidji State University in 1960. She moved to St. Cloud and taught school in District 742. Mary married John "Jack" Unger on July 7, 1962 at St. Mary's Cathedral, St. Cloud. She was active in community affairs such as an American Association of University Women (A.A.U.W.) member from 1970 - 1990 and past Name Grant recipient for 1977-1978; a School Board Member of District 742 from 1977 - 1984; a past IR Chairwoman of Senate District 17; Occupation Training Center Board Member and past president; and a New Beginnings Board Member and past president. Mary was involved for 10 years in the Junior Achievement Program and was a past president. She initiated the In-School Programs into St. Cloud schools. Mary was active in the St. Cloud Chamber of Commerce, past Executive Board Member, and a past Top Hatter. She loved Florida and seasoned there for the past 25 years.

Mary is survived by her children; daughter, Kristen of St. Pete Beach, FL; sons; Frank of Brunswick, GA and Karl of St. Cloud and 2 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack in 2010; brother, Richard Cleary and infant brother Bill.
