Byron L. Clark, 97, Parsons, Kansas, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006 at the Elmhaven West Nursing Home, Parsons, Kansas.

He was born July 31, 1909 at Fishers, IN, to H. Lee and Gertrude (Casteter) Clark.

He grew up at Fishers, graduating from the local high school in 1927.

He and Ruth Helen Heady were married Feb. 2, 1929 at Erie, Kansas. She preceded him in death on Sept. 8, 1992.

They moved to Anderson, IN, where he worked at the Anderson Banking Co., as a banker. He also worked at the Citizens State Bank at New Castle and Lewisville, IN. He retired in 1971 and moved to Erie, KS in 1983, residing there until moving to Woodridge Estates in Parsons, KS in March 2005.

He enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He was a member of the Lewisville Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include special friends and caregivers Brenda and Mike Elsworth, rural Erie, KS; and several nieces and nephews, Ronald Stafford, Rian Stafford, Judy Campbell, Stacia Andis, and Jennifer McKinley.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys Geiger and Vivian Berry.

Burial will be Jan. 3, 2007, in the East Hill Cemetery, Erie, KS.
