Mrs. Clements, 85, of Manquin and Walkerton, was the widow of Eugene Wooddy Clements. They were married for 59 years before his death on March 22, 2003. She was survived by her three sons and daughter, seven grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and one sister, Mildred Broaddus.

Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Lee and Jane Moran McGeorge. She was raised from the age of two by her maternal aunt, Verna, and uncle, Carlyle Nuckols, and his parents, Oscar and Irene Nuckols. Anne always gave full credit to the Nuckols for making her feel special and an important part of the family and always greatly loved.

Anne was a shrewd business woman. She was always generous, forthright and engaging. She conversed easily with people in all walks of life. Anne kept up with the times and spoke easily on many topics. When asked how she wished to be remembered, Anne replied, "As a good wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother." Anne influenced many people in her lifetime. She will be greatly missed.

A service was to have been conducted at B.W. White Funeral Home, Aylett, on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, with interment at McKendree United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Donations may be made to McKendree Cemetery Fund or Mattaponi Rescue Squad, Walkerton, Va. 23177.
