Obituary From Ottumwa Post, March 2, 2017:

OTTUMWA-Emmett Rex Agee, 100, of Laguna Niguel, CA, formerly of Ottumwa, died February 24, 2017 at Quality Life Board and Care in Laguna Niguel, CA.

He was born December 22, 1916 in Iowa to Benjamin Franklin and Zadie Mae Rown Agee. He married Esther Harshbarger.

Emmett had worked as a contractor in construction his working career.

Surviving is his wife, Esther; two sons, Robert Agee and Greg Agee; two daughters, Sandra Knight and Georgia Sterling; three step-daughters, Ella Murphy, Cheryl McCowan and Christine Burke; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Lowe and Martha Fort.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Nellie Stuehm, Dorothy Canny and Lucille Teeter; six brothers, Roy, Orville, Ralph, Harold, Everett and Don Agee.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. James H. Wakelin officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.

The family will be present one hour prior to the service.
