Rev. James Ray Davis, North Plainfield Pastor
Services were held on Friday, Aug. 16 for the Rev. James Ray Davis, 54, the pastor of Grace United Methodist Church in North Plainfield, who died at Aug. 12 at his home in Rahway.
Born in Pittsburgh, he lived in Cochranton, Pa., and Edison for three years before moving to Rahway four years ago.
He was also a consultant for Herbert W. Davis and Co. in Englewood Cliffs for 25 years before retiring last month.
He received a bachelor's degree from Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pa., and was a veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Williams Davis; two sons, James Ray Jr. and Robert Evan, both of Rahway, his mother Pearl of Meadville, Pa.; and a brother, Phillip of Pittsburgh.
