Matthew L. Jackson, 36, of Mattoon, passed away at 4:08 p.m. Friday (March 3, 2017).

Private family services will be held Monday (March 6, 2017). Burial will be in St. Isidore Cemetery, Bethany. Matthew was born July 25, 1980 in Decatur the son of James and Rita Schulte Jackson. He was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church. Matthew was an avid Cardinals fan and was an excellent bowler. He enjoyed watching movies, playing his Nintendo games and visiting the Coles County Animal Shelter. He was a very giving person who was always thinking of others and found joy in sharing what little that he had. He was loved and respected by his neighbors.

Surviving are his parents Jim and Rita Jackson of Lovington; sister Sarah Jackson of Chicago and brother Jonathon Jackson of Lombard.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
