LaMoyne Parker, 83, of Teton City, passed away at his home on March 4, 2017, surrounded by his family.
LaMoyne was born April 7, 1933, to Louis and Geneva Parker in Teton City, Idaho. He had two younger brothers: Darrel (Patsy) Parker and Blair (Marsha) Briggs, both of Idaho Falls; and one sister, Carolyn (Danny) Quayle, of St. Anthony.
He attended School in Teton and St. Anthony, graduating from South Fremont High School.
He married Karen Williams in December of 1951. They lived their entire 65 years of marriage (Dad would always add “to the same woman!”) in Teton. He worked for local farmers and the Union Pacific Railroad and served as Teton City Marshal.
He made his career as a farmer and worked in potato warehouses in the winter to support his family. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and snowmobiling and teaching his six kids how to work on the farm.
In the 1980’s LaMoyne and Karen enjoyed time traveling. Some of their destinations were Hawaii - Alaska - Mexico - Australia - France - New Zealand - Puerto Rico - Brazil - Germany -Switzerland - Fiji - Jamaica - Africa (from top to bottom). For the past 20 years Karen and LaMoyne have relished their daily outings – driving the country roads of Fremont and Madison County, taking in and appreciating our beautiful valley.
LaMoyne is survived by his wife, Karen, of Teton; six children: Nola Jensen, of Teton, Louis (Eileen) Parker, of Teton, Debbie (Jose) DeLosReyes, of Chubbuck, Connie (Sven) Ottesen, of Teton, Bryon (Becky) Parker, of Sugar City, and Cherrol (Jack) Chiles, of Hibbard; 17 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son-in-law, Dale Jensen; grandson, Skip Ottesen; and great-grandson, Angel DeLosReyes.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday March 7, 2017 at the Teton-Newdale-Cemetery at 12:30. Prior to services the family will receive friends and family from 10am – noon at the Teton LDS church in Teton City.
