He was a U.S. Navy veteran of Desert Storm and a corpsman having served in Japan. He was a Pittsburg Steelers fan and loved muscle cars, bowling, golf, playing pool, hunting and fishing even with his disabilities. He never complained and had a unique sense of humor.
He is predeceased by his father Billy H. Carter, Jr.
He is survived by his mother Phyllis A. Carter; son Christopher Leo Carter; daughter Kathryn Belle Carter; brothers Jeffery Carter and David Carter; sister Wendy Bohnsdahl Carter; and a very special friend Joyce Reilly.
The funeral service will be at 12:00 noon Monday, March 6, 2017. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at New Bern Memorial.
