Son of Edward (George Edmond) Kinney and Frances Holmes.
Robert's wife was Clarissa "Clara" Murphy, daughter of Patrick Murphy an Irishman who served in the British 98th Regiment of Foot in the War of 1812. His date of entry as found in the 1851 census he gives as 1818, and that is when he was given the land grant for his service in Wicklow and set up permanent residence as a citizen not soldier. Clarissa's mother Elizabeth DeMerchant is a daughter of John Cuffman DeMerchant. Clarissa was born about 1838 and died before 1911, according to the census record shown below.

The date of birth varies widely for Robert Kinney
1851 Census: 1843, 9 years old

1881 Census: 1832, 49 years old
1891 Census: 1840, 51 years old
1901 Census: 10 December 1837, 63 years old

The Death Certificate has an inconsistency between age at death of 95 and given year of birth of 1845, since death date is 10 June 1930. This memorial uses the birth date given on the 1911 census since it is more consistent with earlier census records closer to his birth, and the fact that he was the most likely informant since he lived alone as a widower.

Burial date on Death Certificate is 11 June 1930 in Holmesville. However, he was not listed in the Cemetery Transcription of the Holmesville Cemetery next to the Free Will Baptist Church by George Hayward in 1987. Since his parents and some siblings are in the Buckley Cemetery in Holmesville, I am assuming this is the cemetery where he is buried.
