Jason Kenneth Matthews, 43, of Bluefield, VA, passed away suddenly after a mining accident on Monday, February 27, 2017. Born on March 8, 1973, he was the son of Ronald Matthews and the late Margaret Anderson Matthews. Jason was an avid outdoorsman and loved riding his Harley Davidson with his beloved wife, Angie. His greatest love was his family and the time spent with them. Jason served in the United States Air Force and had a long career as a coal miner.
He will be lovingly and affectionately remembered by the love of his life, his wife, Angie Matthews; his father: Ronald Matthews; his children: Austin and Ashley Matthews; the light of his life, Carter Avery Matthews (Carter Man); brother: Stephan Wayne Matthews of New Milford, CT.
A service to celebrate Jason’s life will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Falls Mills Christian Church at 2:00 P.M. with Ministers Frank Watkins and Rick Mathena officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens.
