Funeral services for Douglas R. Reese, Sr. 75 of Athens have been scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Sunday March 5, 2017 at Eastern Hills Church of Christ with Neil Plunket and Eric Thornton officiating.
Burial will follow with military honors at Athens Cemetery.
Douglas went to be with his Lord and Savior March 2, 2017. He was born August 5, 1941 in Dierks, Arkansas to the late Sam Shelby and Thora Dean White Reese. He served our country 21 and a half years in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran. Douglas was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Mary Sue Wilson.
Survivors include his wife of 49 and a half years Pat Reese, his 3 children Beth Florence and husband Darryl, Douglas R. Reese Jr. and wife Amy, Kathy Land and husband Jack. Four sisters Ann Johnson, Bobbie Horton, Maizie Hester, and Margret Parks. He had 7 grandchildren; Dillion Wenberg and wife Taylor, Megan and Logan Shoup, Natalie and Kyle Reese, Mason and Madison Land.
Pallbearers will be Douglas Ray Reese, Jr., Kyle Reese, Jack Land, Mason Land, Logan Shoup, Darryl Florence and Dillion Wenberg.
