She was a lifelong resident of Fort Smith, a member of Eastside Baptist Church and a member of the Fort Smith High School class of 1945. Mrs. Butler served as credit manager of Arcade Furniture Store and was office manager of Butler and Cook Welding and Machine Works.
Mrs. Butler was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth J. Butler.
She is survived by a brother, Willie Anderson of Fort Smith, a daughter, Libby Boren and son-in-law Bill Boren of Winston-Salem, and a son, Dr. Tom Butler and daughter-in-law Charlene Butler of Port Charlotte, Florida. Her granddaughters, who call her Nana, are also mourning her; they are Kelsey and Madison Boren and Lily Brown as well as great-granddaughters Clara and Anna Brown. Mrs. Butler was a wonderful, loving Christian woman who will be missed by her many friends and family. She was an inspiration to so many and a wonderful example of what a mother and “Nana” should be. Her family was of utmost importance to her.
Friends may visit at Lewis-Roberts Funeral Chapel 4817 Kelley Hwy Fort Smith, Arkansas on Monday, March 6th from 6:00 pm to 7:30pm. Funeral Service will be in the same location at 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 7th. Interment will be at the National Cemetery following the service.
