Virginia “Ginny”, 90, died March 1, 2017 at Bishop Drumm Care Center.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m., Monday, March 6, 2017 at Merle Hay Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m.
Virginia, the daughter of Julius and Sylvia (Tuel) Young, was born September 9, 1926 in Coon Rapids, Iowa.
She was united in marriage with Ralph Leonard, Jr. on December 31, 1945.
She was an amazing, gifted quilter and a wonderful cook. She loved her family and those Chicago Cubs, finally getting to see them win the World Series!
Virginia is remembered by her children: Kathy Weldon, Kerry Leonard, Kristine (Paul) Phipps, and Ralph Leonard III; seven grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and ten great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; infant daughter, Connie Marie Leonard; her parents; one brother; and two sisters.
