Dora Ann was born in Picher, Oklahoma, to William and Audry Boyd on October 13, 1936. Her family moved to Florida in 1942. She graduated from Lakeland High School in 1955 and married James Moore in June 1955. While raising three children, she worked for the Polk County Sheriff's Office as a crossing guard at the Combee Road area. She later went to work for Publix and retired in 2010, after 26 years. She enjoyed watching Nascar racing and football games; but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dora Ann is preceded in death by her parents, William and Audry Boyd; two brothers, John and Jimmy; a sister, Betty Sue Johnson; and a son, Donald Moore. Dora Ann is survived by her husband, James Moore; two sisters, Treva and Cordea; a brother, Bill; two sons, Fred and Mike; a daughter, Judy; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Cornerstone Hospice and Lakeland Regional Medical Center for their support in her final days.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday October 8, 2014, at 12:00 P.M. with a viewing one hour prior at Heath Funeral Chapel. The burial will follow the service at Oak Hill Burial Park, Lakeland, FL.
