Mrs. Leonard was born on October 27, 1921 in Horry County, South Carolina the daughter of the late George W. Cooper and Mae Hucks Cooper. She was a long time employee of Adams-Millis/Hanes-Sara Lee.
Mrs. Leonard loved her church and was an active member of Green Street Baptist Church for 80 years.
She was a loving and faithful mother and grandmother who loved her family with all her heart.
Mrs. Leonard is survived by four children, Dan Leonard and his wife, Barbara of High Point, Carl Leonard of Charlotte, Sharon Leonard of High Point, and Marie Leonard-Hampton and her husband, Eddie of Salisbury; seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Cooper.
A committal service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2017 in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Green Street Baptist Church, 303 N Rotary Drive, High Point with Rev. C. W. Moss officiating. A visitation will follow in the Fireside room at the church.
