Mr. John H. Vann, 87, passed away on February 15, 2017 in Tallahassee, FL. John was born October 16, 1929 in Lamont, Florida to John F. Vann and Christine Mae Anderson Vann. John honorably served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Vann was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher for many years. John worked as a Crew Leader/Operator with Proctor & Gamble/Buckeye Cellulose for over 36 years. Mr. John loved to wood work, making things for his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming. John was preceded in death by his parents John F. Vann and Christine Mae Vann, his brothers Phillip Vann, and Franklin Vann, his grandchildren Audra Vann, Jessica Coulliette, and Laura LeeAnn Barclay. Mr. Vann is survived by his wife of 65 years Mrs. Hazel Vann of Lamont; children, Ruth Taylor (Levis), Jesse Vann, Dela Carroll (Frankie), Jim Vann (Patricia), Eunice Coulliette (Lessly), Sam Vann (Denisia), Tom Vann (Cherie), and Jane Sadler (Jeff); his brothers, Charlie Vann, and Earl Vann; his sisters, Louise Alford, and Virginia Aman; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Bro. Bobby Hall officiating. Interment services will follow immediately afterwards in Evergreen Cemetery, in Greenville, Fl. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Burns Funeral Home. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
