Olympic Games Gold Medalist Athlete. He was a member of the United States Olympic Hockey team that won the Gold Medal at the 1960 Winter Olympic Games at Squaw Valley, California. A native of Springfield, Massachusetts, he helped his high school hockey team win the Massachusetts state championship during his senior year. He went on to play hockey at Michigan State University before being selected to the 1960 United States hockey team. He helped the United States go undefeated in the games, which culminated in a win over Czechoslovakia in the Gold Medal game.
