Mrs. Ruth Ashley McCormick age 92, of Warrensville, died Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Forest Ridge Assisted Living. Mrs. McCormick was born July 22, 1924 in Ashe County to William Riley and Lochie Weaver Ashley. Mrs. McCormick was preceded in death by, her parents, her husband, Jasper "Jack" McCormick, six brothers and one sister. Mrs. McCormick was a member of Warrensville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, making afghans, traveling and spending time with her family.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Margaret Wannamacher, Sam Shumate and Dale Mullis. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the service.
Mrs. McCormick is survived by: daughter, Ann Vannoy & husband Russell of West Jefferson, two granddaughters, Stephanie McClure & husband Kurt of West Jefferson, Heather Carpenter & husband Brian of Midland, four great-grandchildren, Mallorie & Matthew McClure, Ella & Marc Carpenter, several nieces and nephews.
