Frank J. Andrews age 97 of Des Plaines passed away March 1, 2017. Private First Class Andrews served in the Army of the United States in WWII and received numerous citations and awards for his service. Particularly Mr. Andrews was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart for his actions at the Battle of the Bulge. Additionally he was awarded the Legion de Honour Medal by the French Government. He is a life member of the American Legion and also a life member and past commander at VFW #300. Beloved husband of Mary (nee McCarthy) for 75 years. Loving father of James (Marlene), Maureen (Chuck Vogelsang) Pierce, Lawrence (Kathy), and Terrence (Kathleen). Proud grandfather of 10 and great grandfather of 11. Fond brother of the late Evelyn Betz. Visitation Friday, March 3 from 3:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. at G.L. Hills Funeral Home 745 Graceland Ave, Des Plaines, IL.
