Ruby Mae Lunsford
(July 10, 1927 - March 1, 2017) Ruby Mae Crider Hyde Lunsford, 89, of Ages, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at her home with her daughter by her side. Born July 10, 1927, she had lived in Ages and Brookside most of her life. She was the eldest member of the Ages Mountain Assembly Church of God. She loved going to church more than anything. She loved the Lord with all her heart and she loved everyone and everyone loved her. She was the most caring and loving person and was unselfish, always putting others first. She raised her two children by babysitting with many children in the county and she cleaned houses and ironed for people in order to provide for her children. She took care of her mom and dad until their death and when her dad passed away in 1987, she took her brother, George, and cared for him until his death in 2013. She raised a nephew from the time he was one year old until he married. She always showed love to everyone she met. She never said an ill word about anyone.

Ruby Mae is preceded in death by her parents, Denver Crider, Sr. and Vera Stevens Crider; a daughter, Iva Sue Hyde; three brothers, George, Johnny Freddie and Denver Crider, Jr.; and four sisters, Jeanette, Maggie Irene and Anna Crider, and Nannie Rainey.

Survivors include her loving daughter who stayed with her and cared for her, Mary Bolin and her husband, Gary, who Ruby loved like a son, of Coxton; a son, Bobby Hyde and wife, Vivian, Tazewell, TN; two grandsons, Dustin Bolin (Deanna), Rosspoint; Garett Bolin, Sr. (Beth), Evarts; two granddaughters, Marah Hyde, Tazewell; and Kimberly Hyde, California. Ruby took care of her two grandsons while their parents worked. She loved them like they were her sons, and they loved her. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren, Kayla and Lawton Bolin, Rosspoint; Garett Bolin, Jr., Evarts; a special sister-in-law, Wanda Crider, Kent, OH; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

She loved and told the ones with Hospice that she loved them. Jim Garrett, RN would hold her and love on her every time he came, he was just like family. We are also thankful to Dr. Junker, Wanda Brock, Candace the social worker, Jonathan Olakunle the chaplain, Constance, Vickie, Barbara, Michelle and Susan for returning love back to Mom. They were all excellent in their care toward Mom. Mom loved all of her neighbors, Jerry, Debbie and Bethany Kinney and Freda Smith. Jim Burkhart, Rosemary Hamm, Barbara Creech, Gayle Allen and Bill Noe visited with Mom every week. The faithful members of the Ages Baptist Church came every Wednesday, up until Mom got so sick, and had church with her. Mom’s church and the Ages Pentecostal Church showed their love also.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 until 8 pm at the Evarts Funeral Home and after 10 am Friday at the Ages Mountain Assembly Church of God.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Friday, March 3, 2017, at the Ages Mountain Assembly Church of God with the Reverend Donnie Harrison, the Reverend Jessie Kinder and Preacher Jim Burkhart officiating.

Burial will follow in the Brookside Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Evarts FH in charge of arrangements..
