Mr. Sullivan served with the United States Army 6th Calvary during World War II. He received the Purple Heart for his service at the Battle of Normandy and also received the American Defense Service medal. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. He was an employee of Green Spot for 32 years until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George E. and Nannie Morgan Sullivan; three sisters, Dollie Fair, Georgie May and Ernestine Epps; brother, Mack Sullivan; granddaughter, Beverly Ann Davis; and several nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Audrey Cantrell Sullivan of Dalton; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Steve Hammontree of Tunnel Hill; son, Bob Sullivan of Dalton.
Two grandchildren, Bruce Davis of Calhoun; and Amy Goldberger of Alphretta; two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Ashley Davis of Calhoun. Sister, Mrs. Jean Gardner of Tampa, Florida.
Services were held in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. David Hammons and the Rev. William Roberts officiating.
