Mary Louise Tedrow
March 18, 1941 - Nov. 22, 2015
Mary Lou was born in Manhattan, Kansas to Clifford Carey and
Mary Dorothy O’Rourke, where she lived the first few years of her life. Later she and her family moved out west to Montrose, CA.
She attended Holy Redeemer Catholic school in Montrose, CA
throughout all her school years and graduated in June of 1959.
After graduating she met the love of her life, Edwin Goad.
They were married on December 31, 1959 in Montrose, CA. Mary Lou’s mom didn’t want her to marry so young and offered her a 1957 Thunderbird (her favorite car), but she chose Edwin.
Mary Lou and Edwin were married for many years and had
five children. Later Edwin would move back to Tennessee and
Mary Lou stayed in California and became the soul provider for her family.
Mary Lou had one more precious gift of life added to her
family by the birth of Brian Bradly Neal in 1973.
Mary Lou remarried on September 1981, on top of Mount
Pacifico in the Los Angeles National Forest. She and her new
husband, Donald Tedrow, settled in Tujunga, California where they raised their family.
Don introduced the family to four-wheeling and camping in the Sierra Nevada mountains.
Mary Lou worked at King Video Cable in Tujunga, CA for many years.
Later she started working at a small mail order company in Cave Junction, called Fire Mountain Gems. She loved working there, and as the company grew and expanded, so did her responsibilities from Manager to Supervisor of the customer service department. She loved the company and the people she worked with very much. She worked there until her retirement in March of 2006.
Mary Lou and Don built their beautiful dream home in Selma, Oregon, nestled on 30 acres with views of meadows and Eight Dollar Mountain.
Mary Lou enjoyed horse riding, long walks on the property, spending time with family and friends, and reading a good book.
Mary Lou was a much loved wife, mother, and a dear friend to all who knew her. She was kind, generous, thoughtful and had a HUGE heart. She was a strong and courageous woman
with a heart of gold and believed treating others with love and respect - the Golden Rule - “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
Mary Lou was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
Mary Lou is survived by her children, Edwin Goad, Deborah Goad, Jeannie Goad, Gregory Goad, Daniel Goad and Brian Neal; eight grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service and Mass will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 1131 N.E. 10th St., Grants Pass, OR.
