Elizabeth "Libby" Helen Olson, 82, of Bemidji, MN died Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in Bemidji with Rev. Rob Kopp officiating Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Bemidji under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.

Libby was born December 5, 1934 in Bemidji, MN the daughter of Roy and Fern Danielson. She was raised and educated in Bemidji. She attended Bemidji State University in her junior and senior year through a grant for gifted students, and graduated from Bemidji High Scholl in 1952. She married James Gorman in 1956, they had two children, Jeffrey and Jill Elizabeth, they later divorced. She married Alvin "Dude" Olson on Dec. 28, 1973 in Bemidji, Dude had 3 children from his previous marriage, Bill, Barb and Becky. After many fun years together, Alvin died in 2006.

Libby was baptized and a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, and was active in the Bemidji American Legion Auxiliary for many years. She was an avid knitter, reader and crossword puzzle expert. Libby had a special craving for ice cream and could eat ice cream every day with of course a little chocolate sauce.

She is survived by her daughter Jill Gorman of St. Peter, MN, son Jeff Gorman of Carson City, Nevada, Stepchildren- Barbara (Bernie) Mahoney of Johnston, Iowa, Becky Olson of Minneapolis, Bill (Sherry) Olson of Grand Rapids, MN, and 2 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters- Shirley and Bonnie. Casketbearers will be her friends. Condolences may be left at ceasefuneralhome.com.
