Mrs. Sarah Epps. Committed by W. E. Greene Judge of San Joaquin February 21st 1870.
Age 21 years, native of Delaware; married; maiden name Sarah Jane Burris; was last from Penn.; has been in Cal. 13 years; occupation, courtesan. The evidence of insanity is incongruity of conversation, imagines that she is in communication with the Spirit of her mother and of a certain man, both of whom are departed; has made threats to kill others and herself; disease stationary - probably no rational intervals. This attack appeared 3 days since, imagines that she was to be married to a barber in Ellis, is dangerous to others especially to the barber having attacked his premises; destroys clothing and furniture; cause of insanity unknown; class not stated.
Admitted February 21st 1870. Has no property. Died August 5th 1874 of Consumption.
