Carrie J. Coleman, age 95, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Carrie was born on March 19, 1921 to her parents the late Green F. Justice and Rebecca Blackburn Justice. She was the wife of the late Victor Coleman, a homemaker and a seamstress, and a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church. Along with her husband and parents, Carrie was preceded in death by her first husband, Troy Slone, one granddaughter, Heather Newsome Blackwood, four brothers, Albert, Finice, Arson, and Hassel Justice, three sisters, Flora Kendrick, Pearlie Coleman, Dorothy Hunt, and three son in laws, Marlin Newsome, Bob Childers, and Harold Gunter. Carrie is survived by one son, Victor Dale (Brenda) Coleman, four daughters, Nina Sue Newsome, Vivian Childers, Pamela Gunter, Marcia (Curtis) Wallace, two sisters, Stella (Audra Gene) Coleman, Ruby Hall, six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Friday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Friday and SAturday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
