Norman E. Spicer, 74 of Georgetown passed away at home on Monday, February 27, 2017 surrounded by family and friends.

Norman was born in Georgetown, son of the late Norman E. and Susie (Jefferson) Spicer. Norman served in the National Guard and worked with Jim Chandler on a Rendering truck years ago.

In his early years he was a carpenter for John L. Briggs and later owned and operated Norman Spicer Building Contractor, retiring in 2001.

He was a member of the Georgetown Volunteer Fire Company and a former member of Local Union #2012 Carpenters. He enjoyed deer hunting with Richard Lankford and Cordia Warrington.

He was preceded in death by his son, Chad Spicer, brothers, Donald and James Spicer and a sister, Patricia Littleton.

He is survived by his wife, of 41 years, Ruth Ann (Johnson) Spicer, children, Bruce Spicer of Georgetown, Lisa Etienne of Laurel and Michelle Spicer of Georgetown; grandchildren, Aubrey Spicer, Stephanie Lynch, Brandon Lauer, Taylor Littleton and Lacy Reed and several great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 3, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Crossroad Community Church, 20684 State Forest Road, Georgetown, where friends may call from 11:00 to 2:00 pm. Interment will be in Cokesbury Cemetery, Georgetown.
