Delores Ann (Yoder) Knepp, 76, of 12059 Grove Road, Allensville, passed away at 12:25 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, at Valley View Haven Retirement Center, Belleville.

Born Sept. 18, 1940, in Belleville, she was the daughter of the late Jesse C. and Lydia M (Zook) Yoder. Her husband, Paul Herbert Knepp, whom she married on July 28, 1962, in Belleville, preceded her in death on June 9, 2015.

She is survived by: children, Louise Ann Booher and husband, Duane, of Mount Union, Carol Sue Guyer and husband, Rex, of Huntingdon, and Jeannette Marie Kanagy and husband, Daryl, of Allensville; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Anna K. Mitchell, of Hummelstown, Joyce C. Yoder and husband, John M., of Buhler, Kan., and Judy E. Heide, of Buhler, Kan.

She was preceded in death by her infant sister Leah B. Yoder.

Delores began her career in bookkeeping at Ganoe Motors, Lewistown, then moved to DK Hostetter’s, Belleville, then the KAvee Dairy, Belleville, Key Buick Cadillac, Huntingdon, and finally Montgomery Chevrolet, Huntingdon.

She and Paul owned and operated the Charolais Restaurant in Belleville from 1976 to 1981 and in 1980 she and her husband purchased Miller’s Diner, which she and Paul owned and operated from 1980 until they sold it in 2006. After her retirement from Miller’s Diner, Delores worked at First National Bank, Allensville.

Delores was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Allensville. She was a 1958 graduate of Kishcoquillas High School.

She was a lifetime resident of the Big Valley.

Delores was a past-president and board member of the Kiwanis Club of Huntingdon, past president and board member of the Soroptomist Club of Huntingdon, member of the advisory board of the Salvation Army, Huntingdon, a long-time 4-H leader, served several terms as Bradly Township Tax Collector, and a board member of the Huntingdon County Children’s and Youth Advisory Board.

She enjoyed flowers, gardening, reading and quilting. Delores was known for her baking skills and her excellent cooking, she enjoyed trying new and innovative food dishes and experimenting with new and different ideas in the preparation of her most delicious items. She was well known in the area for her catering, receptions, gathering and full service meals, ranging from picnics to executive affairs, weddings and impromptu get-togethers.

She was foremost a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, at the Cutright Funeral Home, 313 Fairgrounds Road, Huntingdon, PA 16652, and at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 2, at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Allensville, with the service to follow. Interment will be in the Allensville Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.
