Joan is survived by her sons John W. Griffin and life partner Victoria Riley of Brewster, NY, and Donald J. Griffin and his wife Lori of Florida; a daughter-in-law Kathleen Griffin; two brothers Richard Lawlor and his wife Nancy of Windsor and Robert Lawlor and his wife Maureen of Hampton Ct. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren, Julia, Heather, Michael, Matthew, Ryan, Michelle, Chelsea, Shannon, Jonathan, and Kaylee as well as seven great grandchildren Hunter, Aubrey, Micaela, Justin, Madison, Ava, and Riley.
In addition to her loving husband Henry, Joan was predeceased by her son Michael C. Griffin.
Her family will receive friends at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home 419 Buckland Rd. South Windsor, on Thursday, March 2, 2017, from 5-8 pm. Family and friends may gather on Friday, March 3, 2017, 9 a.m., at the funeral home; followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., at St. Margaret Mary Church in South Windsor. Burial will follow at Wapping Cemetery in South Windsor. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, CT Chapter, 200 Executive Boulevard, Ste 4B, Southington, CT 06489-1058.
