Roy Lee Sims Jr., 50, of Jonesboro passed away Thursday, February 9, 2017 at his home. He was born October 13, 1966 in Waukegan, Illinois to Roy Sims Sr. and Dorothy Paxton.
Roy Jr. was united in marriage with Jackie Conkin Sims for 18 years. He was blessed with 6 children and 12 grandchildren. Roy Jr. was a loving husband, son, father and grandfather and he always put his family first. As a former truck driver of nearly 20 years, his favorite thing to do was to take rides with his loving wife.
He leaves behind his wife, Jackie Sims of Jonesboro; his father, Roy (Margo) Sims Sr. of Waukegan, Illinois; mother, Dorothy Paxton of Jonesboro; 4 sons, Ira D. Smith of Harrisburg, Christopher (Heather) Smith Sr. of Brinkley, Roy (Brittany) Sims III of Jonesboro, Marcus (Whitney) Sims of Jonesboro; 2 daughters, Barbara (Wesley) Ellis of Jonesboro, Ashley (Martin) Lewis of Augusta, GA; 1 step-brother, Phillip M. Clark of TN; 12 grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be Monday, February 13, 2017 at 10:00 am in Emerson Memorial Chapel with William Stinnett officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 am prior to the service.
