Jesse Allen Farmer, 78, of Needville, passed away on February 27, 2017 in Sugar Land. He was born March 11, 1938 in Greensberg, Pennsylvania.
Jess honorably served our country in the U.S. Air Force. While in the Air Force, Jess was involved with the Honor Guard, was on the firing squad for J.F.K. Memorial at Laughlin Air Force Base, earned metals as a Processing Technician, Fabrication Branch Chief, and was a Flight Line Superintendent. Jess retired in 1982 after 25 years of service. He was a life-time member of the D.A.V. and proud to be a Vietnam Veteran. Jess was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Church in Needville. This loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend will be missed.
Jess is preceded in death by his father, Howard Edwin Farmer; and his mother and step father, Amelia and Gerald Blickensderfer.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Dorothy Meyen Farmer; daughters, Debbie LaMont and husband, Ed, and Connie Wood and husband, Woody; grandchildren, Tommy Bennett, Travis LaMont, and Alyssa LaMont; great granddaughter, Jesslynn Howard; sisters, Doris Derby and husband, Lee, and Patty Balcovic and husband, Bob; along with extended family and friends.
The family will receive guests from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 2, 2017 in the State Room of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 3, 2017 at Immanuel Evangelical Church in Needville. Interment with full military honors will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.
For those wishing, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immanuel Evangelical Church in Needville.
Pallbearers will include Tommy Bennett, Travis LaMont, David Christenson, Kevin Shumbera, Stephen Meyen and Kurt Miller.
