Ola Mae Robinson, 103, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Park Place Towers with Dr. Chester O'Brien and the Rev. Robert Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street.
Ola Mae Robinson was born Nov. 17, 1903, on the Worsham ranch near Newport, Clay County, the eldest daughter of Franklin Earl and Jennie Rachel Gay Robinson.
She died of natural causes on Jan. 24, 2007, at 103 years.
A graduate of West Texas State Teacher's College and Draughon's Business College, Miss Robinson began her career as a teacher in rural schools, then pursued a lifelong contribution in government service as an accountant for the War Department and the Department of the Air Force. She worked in Washington, D.C., St. Louis and Denver before retiring to live in Hereford and Amarillo.
She was a member of the Methodist church, Denver Rose Society, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, National Genealogical Society and the Republican Party. Miss Robinson was also listed in Who's Who of American Women.
An avid traveler in her later years, Miss Robinson visited more than 40 countries and was a skilled photographer. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Roy, J.O., Billie, George S. and M.L. "Jack" Robinson; and two sisters, Eunice Howard and Beulah Knierim.
She is survived by a sister, Wilma Smith of Pampa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
