RALLS - Nina Bell Wright, 87, went to be with the Lord on February 25, 2017. Nina was born on Feb. 18, 1930, to Lee Roy Ashley and Jewel Mae Morton Ashley in Crosby County.
She married Billy Ray Wright on Sept. 7, 1949. Together with her late husband they owned and operated Wright's Grocery for many years, as well as Wright's House of Dolls she was in the Notable Women of Texas for her operation of the House of Dolls. Nina was a member of the Church of Christ in Cone, Texas.
Nina is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Ray Wright; one son, Ronny Clay Wright; one grandson, Stephen Kyle Wright; and a son-in-law, Charles Dale Matheny.
Those left to cherish Nina's memory are: one daughter, Sherry Matheny of Ralls, one son, Steven Wright and wife, Nolene of Tallahassee, FL; seven grandchildren: Jennifer Sherman, Lisa Contreras, Heather Matheny, Cassie Jones, Ashley Dooley, Joseph Wright, Eric Wright; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2017, in the Ralls Cemetery Chapel, with burial following in the Ralls Cemetery under the care of Adams Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Adams Funeral Home in Ralls.
