Rocky Hill left us unexpectedly on September 12. 2013. We all will deeply miss him, especially his don Tom and granddaughter London. He leaves behind family and friends that loved him dearly.

He was born Feb. 2, 1944, to Betty and Bill Hill. He grew up in Albany and was an accomplished athlete. His first interest was baseball and he played on many championship teams.

In high school, he played tight end on the 1960 and 1961 all-state football teams. he also went to state in gold and track. He received a football scholarship to Texas Tech University and graduated in 1966.

He wore many different hats in life but the one that suited him best was a gold hat. He was an excellent player and an excellent teacher of the game. He was always willing to take the time to help someone with their game. He passed on his athletic abilities to his son Tom, who he was extremely proud of.

Those that preceded him included his parents Bill and Betty Hill, sister Ann Hill and niece Lissa Ann Hill.

We all feel sad about losing him so soon but we appreciate the time we had with him and cherish our memories of him.

A joyful celebration of Rocky's life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21, 11:00 a.m. at the Albany gold Course. Cress casual, y'all.
