He is survived by his wife, Karen; two sons, Chad (Dawn) Hayes of Maple Park and Kevin Hayes of Cortland, Illinois; one grandson, Cody; two stepgranddaughters, Amy and Michelle Pinion; one stepgreat-grandson, Obie Garrison, three sisters, Betty (Paul) Hawkins of Manchester, Illinois, Roma (Jerry) Sharrow of Roodhouse, Illinois and Dianne Proffer of Jacksonville, Illinois; three brothers, Dick Hayes of Jacksonville, Illinois, Larry Hayes of Roodhouse, Illinois and Glenn Hayes of California, Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, A. Jean Pattison; two brothers, James and David Hayes; and his parents.
Ron was employed by A.O. Smith Harvestore in DeKalb for 30 years. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. serving in Vietnam. He enjoyed fishing, camping and the computer especially the internet. His grandson Cody was the love of his life.
Services were entrusted to Anderson Funeral Home of DaKalb, Illinois.
