David and Sue Crum were married in December of 1957, living in Dallas and raising their two young sons until 1970 when they moved to the Sharpstown area in Houston, Tx. David spent most of his career in the Insurance Industry, retiring from Germania Insurance.
David was of Methodist faith and enjoyed hunting, fishing, square dancing, and camping. His passion was golf, playing at various golf courses around the US and always watching golf on TV. Later in his golf years he had the joy of teaching his only grandson Chase McCarson Crum the game of golf and he even modified one of his older golf club sets for Chase to use.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Virginia Sue Byrd Crum; sons David “Lee” Crum and wife Kay L. McCarson of Katy, Tx and Michael “Mike” Edward Crum and wife Kimberly Crum of Damon, Tx; grandchildren, Michelle Crum, Laura Grimsrud, Chase McCarson Crum, Misty Crum Kaiser, and Tamra Justen. Great-Grandchildren: twins Dylan and Peyton Kaiser, Jenna Dale Justen and a great grandson Grimsrud due in April; numerous loving sister in laws and brother in laws and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his older brother Joel Lee Crum.
The Crum family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm Friday March 3, 2017, at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel, in Katy. Interment will be private at Forest Park Cemetery Lawndale Houston, Tx
